HALF A DAY VALUE ENGINEERING AWARENESS PROGRAMME

The Tinplate Company of India Limited along with Indian Value Engineering Society’s ( Eastern Zonal Council) organized a Half Day Value Engineering Awareness Programme for the Executive and Officers from both Works & Non-Works on the 7th of August, 2008 in the Golmuri Club Auditorium. Over 39 participants across all sections participated in this session.

Mr. Alok Ghosal, Certified Value Specialist from Society of American Value Engineers and a TATA STEEL resource conducted this session which covered Overview on Value Engineering, Functional Analysis, Project Selection, Creativity & Evaluation .

Mr. K.N.Mishra, VP and Mr. A.K.Ghosh, GM (Operations) during the inaugural session spoke on the versatility of this improvement technique and how by adopting this methodology VE Practitioners can save on cost which can impact on the bottom line of the organization.

	Mr. Chandan Bhowmick, Sr. Manager (CIG) while introducing the Faculty stressed on the need for participants to develop as VE Champions who would steer the methodology across their respective Divisions / Departments

During the Valedictory Session, Mr. Tarun Daga, Chief Operating Officer and Mr. K.K.Mahajan, Chief (Maint.) highlighted that this Awareness session would create a process for making champions. As VE has a legacy / contribution at National Levels, it is further more important that this technique be adopted all across and VE Champions can use this structure to Align.
