TCIL
hosts the Asia Pacific Working Group(APWG) meeting on the
Chrome Free Project at Jamshedpur(20th & 21st March
2007).
Tin Technology, the
apex body which facilitates technical support & collaboration
within the tinplate industry worlwide, has proactively initiated
a project to find a global solution to replace the existing
chromium based passivation process used universally, in
view of the expected regulations on use of chromium based
processes in future. TCIL has been member of this Chrome
Free global initiative from its inception.

TCIL
hosted the Asia Pacific Working Group (APWG) meeting on the
Chrome Free Project on 20th & 21st March, 2007, at Jamshedpur.
Delegates from TCC & Dongbu (Korea), Bluescope Steel &
Visy Packaging (Australia), besides representatives from Tin
Technology & TCIL, participated in the meeting. Heads
of the Europe (Arcelor – France) & Americas Group
(Arcelor-Mittal) also joined the deliberations through teleconferencing.

Mr. A. K. Ghosh, General Manager (Operations) TCIL, took
over as the Head of the APWG consequent to the retirement
of Dr. Ken Jessop of Bluescope Steel. As Head of the Asia
Pacific Working Group, Mr. A. K. Ghosh also becomes a member
of the Steering Committee of the World Group Chrome Free
project initiated by Tin Technology. |
