TCIL Observes December as Ethics Month – 2009

The Ethics Month celebration was launched on Dec 1, 2009 by Mr. Tarun Daga , MD TCIL, at CIG / TG lawns during the Business Excellence Month Closing Ceremony by administering the Ethics Pledge to all employees who attended the function. The month long celebrations saw various activities / competitions undertaken to create awareness on Business Ethics and compliance to the CODE through Sit & Draw Competition for children, Speech competition for TCIL aided schools and Tinplate Union Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Essay writing, Poster and Slogan and Inter JDC Role Play Competition for the employees.

	Mr. James Davis, Ethics Counsellor while welcoming the distinguished guests and the stakeholders highlighted the various activities which were conducted during the month and also the importance of Corporate Governance within the the TATA Group.
During the concluding function of the month on 2nd January, 2010 ,MR. Tarun Daga MD, TCIL conveyed to the employees the importance of the Code of Conduct and how Safety, Health & Environment, which is the call of the day is addressed as one of the clauses in the CODE.
	Mr. B.L.Raina , Director – TCIL, chief guest during the occasion, stressed that TATA Group drives leadership with trust and hence Leadership must be ROLE MODEL in their individual workplace.
Mr. Rakeshwar Pandey, President (GTWU) lauded the efforts by TCIL to drive Business Ethics amongst its stakeholders and assured that Union has and will support the cause and ensure compliance of the CODE in all spheres.
The Key note speaker Anju Behn, Programme Coordinator of Brahma Kumari , emphasized on the need for all employees to think on how to lead a blissful life far from the daily worries which would otherwise result in deteriorating health and peace. She also emphasized that along with spirituality, Values or Ethics makes a person richer.
