The 4-day exhibition organized by the Confederation of India Industry, Chennai, generated numerous avenues for TCIL as its stall attracted delegates from companies dealing in the business of food processing and packaging. The 8th Indian Food Processing and Food Technology Fair were held from 29th October to 1st November 2009. Mr. Veerapandi S Arumugam agriculture Minister inaugurated the event.

More than 150 participants, including 73 from Chennai were showcased their state-of-the-art technology in the food processing sector and exhibits food processing equipment, machineries, packaged foods, packaging technology, machinery, packaging materials, retailing and vending system focus was on current trends in food processing and innovation through modern technology.

Showcasing its range of products, TCIL had put up a stall. The fair provided an opportunity to leverage its business.It was estimated that India’s processed food sector valued at Rs.1.50 lakh crore would require investment to the tune of $30 billion to meet the rapidly changing consumption profile of the population.
