Interaction Session between the representatives of the Management and the Union, at PURI

An interaction session between the representatives of the Management and the recognized Union of the Company – The Golmuri Tinplate Workers’ Union (GTWU), was held at Puri from 22nd to 24th February, 2008.  The programme was attended by the Managing Director, Mr. B.L. Raina; the President of GTWU, Mr. Rakeshwar Pandey; Senior Officials of the Company and the Office-bearers and Committee Members of the Union.

The Managing Director made a presentation on the achievements and transformation that took place in the company and also shared the concerns. The presentation detailed the SWOT of the Company. The MD called for another wave of transformation with specific focus on Safety, Innovation, Agility and Sustainability.

The President GTWU called upon its members to do their best to ensure that the challenges before the company in terms of cost, market and service to customer remained at the centre-stage of their daily working. He said that the benefits to employees could be ensured only if the business survived.

Mr. Tarun Daga (COO) made a presentation on Tinplate Market and explained in detail about the customer expectations.

 During the question-answer session members raised queries and sought clarifications which were duly responded to. 

The session ended with the members sharing their thoughts on what should be our Vision five years from now.
