TCIL WINS CII-EXIM BANK PRIZE-2008

The Tinplate Company of India Limited (TCIL), Jamshedpur has won the prestigious CII-EXIM Bank Prize for business excellence for the year 2008. The Prize was given during the inaugural session of the CII’s 16th Quality Summit held at Bangalore on 6th November, 2008. The Prize and the Citation were received by Mr. B.L. Raina, Managing Director TCIL and Mr. Ranjit Sinha, Chief Divisional Manager (Business Excellence). The Prize was given away by Mr. N. Srinivasan, former Director-General-CII and Special Advisor CII-IQ and Mr. T.C. Venkat Subramanian, Chairman and Managing Director, EXIM Bank of India. The Citation recognized the transformation of the Company from ‘Tinplate Producer’ to ‘Packaging Solution Provider’ and eulogized the TCIL leadership for adopting the excellence framework to transform its processes, people and strategy to achieve market leadership in India with a potential to make a mark in global market.

In his acceptance speech Mr. Raina remarked that the Prize was a life-time achievement for the people of TCIL. He added that this recognition would further spur and re-energize TCIL in its journey towards business excellence.
