Safety
Safety and Occupational Health are a responsibility TCIL places utmost priority on. The Company's Safety and Health Policy, standards and working procedures, derived from this priority, guide its business practices and processes.
Safety is a key performance indicator at TCIL, as it is committed to ensuring Zero Harm for its employees and all people working within the Company premises. As part of its social responsibility TCIL is also committed to ensuring Zero Harm to its community. It pursues these objectives by continuously focusing on improved awareness and training, new initiatives and communications.
TCIL launched a Safety Excellence Journey (SEJ) in 2010 to establish a strong safety culture throughout the organisation. Based on the DuPont Safety Management system, the goal of this journey is to improve the behavioural aspect of its people, by engaging with employees and providing leadership with commitment on Safety.
The progressive implementation of safety practices, and safety training across all employee categories, under the Safety Excellence Journey, has led to a consistent improvement in TCIL’s Safety Performance.
TCIL is certified to IMS, which includes OHSAS 18001. It continuously monitors the health of its employees commensurate to the work environment, and has reported no significant observations relating to deficiencies in workplace health and hygiene conditions.
